Whilst you are trying to lose weight, we understand that you may experience a number of difficulties when it comes to food. The type of food to eat can become extremely complicated with macronutrient breakdowns, complex carbs, glycemic index and the many different types of fats to consider. Which in the beginning can make the experience feel overwhelming at first. To help alleviate this and make your weight-loss journey as simple and easy as possible, we arrange sessions for you to visit a nutritionist. Our nutritionist will help you to understand your food, enabling you to improve your diet alongside the nutritional guide that we have provided.
Our nutritionists will be able to help you with a number of issues that you may experience throughout your diet, such as IBS, IBD, bloating and indigestion, many of which may be common when drastically changing your diet and lifestyle. They will provide you with healthy eating advice, which will also include a range of tasty recipes that you can try as well as how you can support an existing health conditions you may have through your diet. Through a better knowledge of food, as well as new and exciting meals to try, the aim will be to help you lose weight through your diet. Over time, your diet will become easier and eventually, a part of your daily lifestyle.
Typically, you will be required to fill out a detailed health questionnaire prior to your first appointment, as this will allow the nutritionist to gain a better understanding of your current health, the diet you are on and your general lifestyle.
The questions they ask you may include everything from:
Your reason for seeing the nutritionist (this will be to lose weight)
-Any symptoms that you have displayed
-Your family history
-Levels of exercise/ physical activity
-General state of health
By answering these questions, your nutritionist will be able to gain a better understanding of what stage of your weight-loss journey you are at and tailor the information they provide for you. Each session will last between 60 to 90 minutes, with your first session involving an expansion of the answers that you provided in your questionnaire.
From the information that you provide, your nutritionist will be able to identify key diet, nutrition and lifestyle factors that are contributing to your weight, allowing you to better understand and reduce them. If needed, they will be able to provide you with some recommendations regarding extra supplements for your diet to ensure that you have all the required vitamins and minerals and micronutrients within your diet.
After your first appointment, you will have another three to four weeks later, as well as a telephone call in between to check up on your performance and progress. During this session, you can reflect on what has improved and adapt your diet to what is working the best for you. This ensures that you get the very best out of our weight loss program and begin to live a healthier life.
